Erwin Escobar, a physical therapist at Life Care Center of The Willows in Valparaiso, recently became a Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist (CSRS™) through the National Stroke Association.
Escobar has been a physical therapist at the facility since 2008 and has practiced as a physical therapist for 19 years.
“My motivation every day at work is to see how my patients progress,” Escobar said. “I want to see my individualized treatment approach and joy be a part of their success.”
After 32 hours of stroke seminars and a written final exam, Escobar earned his certification in August.
Escobar has been putting his training to use since receiving his certification. He has seen and treated numerous stroke patients, and as a result of his training he feels more prepared to help patients at the facility.
“I have always had a passion for the human body and how it works,” explained Escobar. “Life Care Centers of America’s dedication to providing superior quality care to its residents, as well as my strong desire to help those people in restoring their function and improving their quality of life after a stroke, is what drove me to take the CSRS™ certification.”
Escobar lives in Hobart with his wife, Roselle, and their four daughters.
